Review
The book is a must read for any resident, fellow and/or practicing orthopaedic surgeon who has an interest in the successful performance of a total joint surgery and the avoidance of many of the potential pitfalls that can arise in the planning or performance of a joint replacement procedure. The book provides us with the practical approaches and the pearls of wisdom that are based on the significant experience of the authors. Brian S. Parsley MD President, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) 2014-2015 “Basics in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty” sets itself a few well-articulated goals. Bringing together a string of rare pearls and valuable insights learned through a lifetime dedicated to teaching to help the reader excel at the art of adult reconstruction can be termed as one of the important goals. Prof. Vaidya, with his talented contributors, has been able to meet all the goals he has set for the publication. I will personally keep my copy close by at all times.
